i am currently shaping up a powerpoint presentation about sandra ciscernos's the house on mango street that will incorporate a couple of videos of her discussing the book to help understand the inspiration behind the book in ways that will help to understand what the book was attempting to accomplish as well as help to thoroughly enjoy the excellent novella.
i will post a link to the powerpoint presentation when it is fully finished.

a little bit belated, but a little about me:
my name is joshua kelly and i am a first semester student through the tcpcg masters program at uconn. i am going to school for secondary english education, and am currently developing a pegogy of student-centered classrooms where the sharing of experience is a vital part of class work and discussion. my personal favorite book (and one that i hope to be able to incorporate into my future classrooms) is "the sun also rises" by ernest hemingway.
hope this fills in a little bit of information about myself.
feel free to direct further questions to: joshuapkelly@gmail.com

List of "100 Best Books of 20th Century", courtesty of: http://www.randomhouse.com/modernlibrary/100bestnovels.html
100 Best Books of 20th Century
Compare the list of what the board at Random House believed and then look at the list that readers voted on. What books make both list? How many have you had the chance to read (from either list)? Do you agree with the books that have been listed, or would you replace books in the list with other books, in which case what books do you believe deserve to be on the list?
